Synthesia for L&D automation.
Not sales outreach -
training content at scale.
We wire Synthesia into your HR system, LMS, or CRM. A compliance deadline, a new hire event, or a course update triggers the render. The video lands in your LMS - packaged, enrolled, and tracked.
30 minutes. You leave with your L&D workflow mapped, your LMS delivery path scoped, and a fixed-price build estimate.
What we build for you.
The full stack from trigger to tracked completion - no manual steps, no copy-paste, no separate upload workflow.
REST API integration for video generation
Direct Synthesia API calls for video creation with your templates. Authenticated, rate-limit aware, with retry logic on transient failures. Silent generation errors are caught and surfaced - not discovered a week later when a compliance deadline has passed.
Template variable mapping
Maps your trigger data - employee name, department, course title, deadline date, manager name - to the Synthesia template variable slots. Fields are validated before the API call fires so a missing variable produces an alert, not a broken video.
LMS delivery automation
Packages the rendered video per your LMS spec and pushes it via the LMS API or configured drop zone. Supported platforms: Workday Learning, Cornerstone OnDemand, SuccessFactors Learning. Other LMSs with an API or SFTP intake are scoped as custom work.
SCORM packaging
If your LMS requires SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 packaging, we wrap the Synthesia output in a compliant SCORM shell before delivery. xAPI (Tin Can) supported where the LMS accepts it. Packaging format confirmed during audit before any build scope is locked.
Bulk generation queue
For high-volume scenarios - annual compliance refreshes, new hire cohorts, product update rollouts - the queue handles concurrent render requests against Synthesia rate limits without manual batching. Progress is logged and alertable at configurable thresholds.
Completion tracking
Pulls learner completion data from the LMS reporting API and writes it back to your HR system or CRM. Tracks who completed, when, and what score if the content is assessable. No manual exports, no spreadsheet reconciliation.
Synthesia vs HeyGen - which one fits your use case.
Both are solid platforms. They are optimized for different jobs. Here is the honest breakdown.
Your use case is L&D or compliance
L&D and compliance content
Synthesia is purpose-built for training video production. Avatar quality, studio backgrounds, and multi-language support are optimized for professional learning content, not one-to-one sales messages.
LMS delivery is required
If the video needs to land in Workday, Cornerstone, or SuccessFactors with enrollment and tracking, Synthesia is the right platform. HeyGen does not have a native LMS delivery path.
SCORM packaging is needed
Synthesia output can be wrapped in a SCORM shell for LMS import. This is a standard L&D requirement that has no equivalent in the sales outreach world.
Template-driven, stable content
Compliance training, onboarding modules, and product certification videos use the same script structure repeatedly with variable substitution. That is exactly what Synthesia templates are designed for.
Your use case is sales or CRM outreach
Sales outreach at volume
HeyGen is optimized for high-frequency personalized sends. Faster render times, lower cost per video at outreach volume, and native integrations with sales tools make it the better fit for prospecting sequences.
CRM-triggered personalization
HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive - HeyGen has more mature CRM integration patterns and a pricing model built around per-contact personalization. Synthesia can do it but was not designed for it.
High personalization per contact
When every video needs a different hook, a different value prop, or a different pain point addressed, HeyGen's flexibility per render is a better match than Synthesia's template model.
Not sure which fits?
The free audit maps your actual use case to the right platform. If you have both sales and L&D needs, we scope them as separate builds - one per platform - so neither is shoehorned into the wrong tool.
What you need before we start.
Synthesia Creator plan or above
API access is not available on the Free or Starter plans. Creator unlocks the generation API. If you are on a lower tier, we will give you the exact upgrade cost during the audit so you can factor it into the build decision.
Existing templates with variable slots
We map your trigger data to your template variables. You need at least one published Synthesia template with named variable slots already defined. We do not create video content - that stays with your L&D team. We wire the data to what you have already built.
LMS with an API or SFTP intake
Workday Learning, Cornerstone, and SuccessFactors all have documented delivery APIs. If you use a different LMS, bring the platform name to the audit and we will scope the delivery path in writing before any work starts.
Written acceptance criteria before we build. The pipeline passes those tests - trigger fires, video generates, content lands in the LMS enrolled and tracked - or we keep working at no additional cost.
If we cannot meet the criteria, the final milestone is waived and you keep everything built plus all documentation.
Questions
Which Synthesia plan includes API access?
Synthesia's API is available on the Creator plan and above. The Free and Starter tiers do not expose the generation API. During the free audit we confirm your plan, verify your templates have the variable slots we need, and tell you exactly which tier is required if you are not already there - before you commit to anything.
How does LMS delivery actually work?
Once Synthesia returns the rendered video, our pipeline packages it per the LMS spec - xAPI or SCORM 1.2/2004 depending on your platform - and pushes it to your LMS via the relevant API or SFTP drop zone. Workday Learning, Cornerstone, and SuccessFactors all use slightly different delivery mechanisms. We scope the exact handshake for your LMS during the audit and document every integration point in the runbook.
Can Synthesia be used for sales outreach instead of L&D?
Technically yes - Synthesia supports personalized variables in templates. In practice, HeyGen is a better fit for sales outreach: it has native CRM integrations, faster render times at outreach volume, and a pricing model that scales better for high-frequency personalized sends. If you have both a sales team and an L&D team, we typically recommend Synthesia for training content and HeyGen for sales sequences. The audit will map your actual use case to the right tool.
Does Synthesia support webhooks for completion events?
Synthesia's API does support generation completion callbacks. Completion tracking at the learner level - who watched, how far they got, whether they passed - is an LMS function, not a Synthesia function. Our pipeline wires the Synthesia callback to your delivery queue and uses the LMS reporting API for learner-level completion data. Both layers are included in the build scope.
